Jemfest UK 2004

Hello there folks,

Well I guess it is still early days, but I thought I'd set the wheels in motion to talk about Jemfest UK 2004. Following inthe Footsteps of Simon "cerealk" Wilkins, I am given the honour (burden? only kidding) of overseeing Jemfest UK.

The work that Simon has done in getting the event to it's present level must be appreciated, last years' event kicking major tushy.

So with that target in mind, a tentative date of "early autumn" (that's "fall" to you t'other side of the pond) is set..

Details will become significantly less sketchy in the coming weeks and months.

If you are interested in playing at Jemfest UK 2004, drop me a line soonest on jemfest@superiorsound.co.uk and we can have a chat!

Any offers of help for anything is welcomed with open arms.

One thing I can confirm is that Pa and Sound Engineering will again be provided by Superior Sound Services, for the fourth year in the UK and fifth Jemfest.

Any questions, comments, thoughts, suggestions etc to jemfest@superiorsound.co.uk

Cheers
Pete

I'm gonna desperately get to this one, I've missed 3 on the trot :-(

Good luck, I'll see if i can start grabbing some freebie's and the like :-)

Rob you should run a "fastest, bestest setups" stall at jemsite, could be good .

I'm definately coming to this one, and I'm happy to help with monkey jobs (e.g. moving stuff, setting up equipment)

I'll be quite willing to set a stall, Althou, I dunno how good my set-ups are compared to say, Fod's or Clive's etc... We shall have to see how it pans out, Of course i'll bring the Uv and RG7 custom(s) and hopefully the comicbook RG custom too

Clive, What guitars are you bringing?

um... probably the LNG and the BBQ for the gallery. onstage I'll probably play the RG750 and maybe the blackmachine B2. also I was talking to paul creedy about playing an arrowhead custom to promote his superb geeetar-making services.

Hmmmm.........

I would love to play this year- I spent the last two years being petrified by the amazing talent on show. This year will be no different- but I'm not getting any younger, so I have e-mailed you my details and potential set list.

Hiya folks,

Update time. Thanks to all of you who have mailed about helping/playing...some replies may be slow in coming due to some ongoing things.

Suffice to say that the line up is not set yet and so if you are interested, getwhat info/a demo to me asap and we will have a listen when we make our decisions.

The date is on hold at the moment, subject to a few artists availablilty.
There may be a rather big name appearing this year (before you ask, no I won't say who just yet, but subject to further communication, it ain't Steve *though I am working on that too!)

Once things are set there will be formal announcement here....

Until then....let here what YOU want out of JFUK2004

I'll just say that while I've been to all the UK's jemfests that there are still some folk that I don't know.

This might sound off and initially sound like an AA convention. "Hi I'm Pablo and I play Ibanez " and feel free to disagree but i think we should have a small piece of time to the posters, so we can actually meet one another.

Maybe even the actual posters get together upstairs for a beer to know one another at a specifc time, as we have been doing this for a few years now there is quite a few who know each other and I know that some people might be put off approaching some folk due to shyness etc so this is a kind of ice breaker.

Obviously there will be the Friday night drink fest which is always a lot of fun hanging out with other guitar players and I would urge people to try and make that too. Although some people can't make it or might be too young to go.

Just a thought.
