We love hearing positive things about the event and good stories and experiences - that's the best return. *Our only goal is for everyone to have a great time while doing something good for a charitable organization.

Thanks,
Gabe

Bob... UPS LOST YOUR MC?!@#
Yes I, or rather, UPS lost it. I called UPS for a pickup last Monday morning. They didn’t arrive until Tuesday morning, but guaranteed that it would arrive in Orlando Thursday. (I arrived Wednesday night) To make a long story short, they took it for a ride to many destinations in the country, but not Orlando… in spite of the fact that I was very thorough with labeling etc.

After it was apparent that it would not get to me in time, my wife and I both spent considerable time on the phone. We went through many managers and operators, but they would not do the paperwork to fix their screw up and send it back to Houston for me. The final ETA for Orlando delivery ended up being Monday the 14th. Because UPS attempts delivery 3 times followed by a five day stay in the warehouse before return of a package, I instructed the Hotel to refuse delivery, which would speed it’s return.

I just called the Hotel… They accepted the package. It was not their fault. UPS dropped it off without speaking to the Hotel engineer, responsible for deliveries. *I have asked them to ship it back to me immediately. I gave them my UPS account number and am waiting to get a tracking number.

I am very angry. This guitar will never leave my home again!

He’s endorsed by Parker… right?

Between the two Bills and Shane, we heard every Vai song in existence, played perfectly.

Oh wow... where to begin?

This was leaps and bounds far better than last year. *Don't get me wrong, Vegas rocked, but the increase in attendence really did the trick. *It was great to see many of the old faces and many of the new ones. *

All the performers were fantastic... I really hope there is video of that because I think everyone really outdid themselves. *

I still can't believe how horribly friendly everyone is. *That always gets me about Jemfest. *Family is really the only way to describe it. *Most other guitar-related events, you can go up and start talking to strangers and they'll just look at you funny... at Jemfest you do that and you'll make a new friend. *It's amazing.

Once again, I can't wait for next year. *Wherever it may be. *I highly doubt I'll drive though. *That is for darn sure.

Let's see....I was incredibly sick for 5 days before Jemfest; *the train tracks were flooded, so I had to get a friend to drive me to the Twin Cities (there were tornado warnings throughout the drive, and the entire evening)...I was totally exhausted when I got to Orlando, and had no appetite all week.
I spent a bunch of money on plane tickets, hotel room, CDs, raffles...and a little on food....I won a free swirl job, I met some GREAT people and heard a bunch of great musicians.
Would I do it again? YES, YES, YES!

Thanks to Gabe, Kevan & Bill for putting this all together. Thanks to all the musicians for showing up and playing great music. Thanks to all who attended for being such cool people.

I suppose I HAVE to go next year to show off that swirl job......

Terri, I'd say you should post some pics here when it's done.

Bob, let us know when you get your UVMC back. *I already put UPS on my black list :lame:

It was good to see Terri there and meet her in person. *Especially thanks to Todd's Guitars for the awsome raffle item of a Sustainer system. *It was 'Kick Azz!!'.

I was also fortunate enough to see a picture of the guitar which is going in for the swirl...

Woo Hoo!

Terri, I love my “Todd’s Guitars” shirt.

David, I think you know how upset I was. I tried not to show it. My MC is now on it’s way back home to me. I’ll let you know what happens.

Jay, I agree. Everybody was real nice. Kinda’ scary eh?

Terri,

as the winner of the sustainer system I would like to thank you for the donation and add that it was very nice to meet you as it was to meet everyone. *I had a great time and hope next year I can stay for the whole event. *
Congrats on winning the swirl!
Thanks again

OK, this is getting old now! If you remember from earlier in the thread, UPS took 6 days to deliver my MC to Orlando and missed me. I had it returned, Priority Overnight. Two days now and the UPS truck just came and went again. No MC! It is now in Kentucky.

My God. *I'd hate to be the UPS driver who Bob is going to slowly rip off each and every limb - one by one.
