Outlanders - Anybody from overseas ever attend Jemfest?
I was just wondering a few things about Jemfest. Questions that pop up in my head are like:
1. Does anybody from overseas come to Jemfest or is it just people from the US?
2. How many people usually are there atJemfest?
I personally love the idea of a Jemfest, the problem is for me to attend Jemfest it would cost me big bucks. But who knows, maybe someday I too will be able to attend. And by the looks of it, it seems to be coming back each year. Wich is G.R.E.A.T!

Joel-
Last I heard, Jono was going to fly across the pond for Jemfest this year (from England). *Maybe he can post more details. *In the past, people have come from as far away as France- Loic Peoch came to Jemfest'99. *One day, Chris Chen and Walter Mak will share a flight to the US from the Far East...and maybe bring some of those cool Pacific Rim Ibanez's we all dig on but can't get.
I just checked Travelocity for prices from Helsinki:
Helsinki-JFK (round-trip) is about $1300, then another $200 to Orlando.....plus $80/night for hotel...could get pricey.
JF'99 had about 80 people, and JF2K had about 60 people. *We expect AT LEAST twice that amount this year due to the advanced notice and cheap flights to Orlando. *A little promotion from other MAJOR resources
(you know who you are)
should help us as well.
It's a good time, and all for a good cause. *Your call.

Thanks for the info. I didn't even know the exact amout I would cost me to fly over there. But now I know. Thanks! I might not be able to attend this year, but hopefully next year.
EDIT

Yeah, we are going to give it another shot. *Last year, our connection was 19.2. *Obviously a live feed would not work so we did single shots every minute. *Even then the picture didn't have time to upload before the next one layered over the top. *
I just hope the hotel has some good bandwidth!

Chances are they have Time Warner Cable in the Motel so It is very likely that they have Road Runner Cable modem access as well........

Loic (forget his last name, started with a "P") came over from France for JF99. I think Kevan's couch and/or the chinese food keeps him from coming back...
