A friend of mine did a "RG2228 REPLICA" from scratch! See video and pics here!

Yep.
If you don't know, the new RG2228 isn't available here in Brazil just yet.
So, a friend of mine, LUCIANO MARCIANI did his own Custom RG2228 REPLICA!
He is not a luthier, but knows exactly what he's doing!!!

The specs are:
Brazilian Mahogany 1 piece body, -
Hard Rock Maple neck, -
Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, 27' scale-
Gotoh frets, -
hand made 8 string fixed bridge, -
Active EMG Bass 6 string, DC model on the bridge position, -
Active EMG Bass 6 string, P model on the neck position, -

He did this just looking for the internet pictures.
The thing is a MONSTER!!!!
And i just loved that tone.
Here are some pics, okay?

Also, i did a quicky vid.
I was very excited about playing a 8 string guitar for the very first time. -
That tone is a blast, i really dig that tone. -
I was using only the Marshall VS102-R drive channel, no effects at all.
Hope you like it, and thanx for reading. -

Smile man, smile...

Very nice replica and you better edit away his name for simple anonymity. Much that that would help if Hoshino actually went after him.

Cool stuff. Always love when people build their own guits . If I were doing it i wouldve gone with something better than plain old borin' dots for inlays though

There's no problem making a replica. Make all you want. The problem is when you try to sell it as an original, but even then is it really a problem? Look at the fake Jems on 3Bay.

Sweet guitar.

yep, the owner that made this guitar did a straight neck without angled headstock, just like Fender or JS.
He says this kind of construction was easier to do by hand!
I just loved that neck:
