A little song that i wrote... suspension.mp3

http://darrenwilson.com/mp3/suspension.mp3

It's nowhere near finished, but this whole piece only took me a few hours to cobble together and record. It's rough in places, and the main melody just loops a few times (couldn't come up with anything interesting or technically competent for a second solo bit on there), but i'm pleased with the sounds. I'll have to write a new middle bit and some lyrics for it, but there ya have it.

All the guitar stuff is my Dean 7-string into my GT-6 and then recorded and cut/pasted/looped in GarageBand.

Comments welcome!

Nice!! That's really good, man.
I love how the drums sound. The guitars... everything. Good start on the song!

That Dean sounds amazing

I've been goofing around on GarageBand at school (I know, why bother when I've got Logic and Pro Tools on the same computer? Sometimes I like the simple approach for some simple keyboard based composing), pretty impressive software, especially as far as ease of use goes.

Cool song, can't wait to hear it with more put into it, but great demo at the very least.

cool tune. i like that restrained lead approach.

wasn't a fan of the lead tone, though. too nasal for my tastes.

Toma: Yes, those are GarageBand loops. I have the first Jam Pack in addition to the stock loops. I merely hooked up my GT-6 directly into the audio input of my PowerBook using some cable adapters.

between the tone and the drumming, it felt like a new Satriani song.

Good work

pretty good. Except if the rhythm part was mixed louder it would've been better. good job

Are you running directly into GarageBand and using the amp sims there?
