A MUST SEE FOR ALL!!!!
Possibly the greatest
guitar playing
ever recorded live. This is
Gary Moore
live doing Roy Bucannan's The Messiah Will Come Again. Gary might not be the most technical or fastest but no one on earth can play with feeling and vibrato the way he does. Go ahead and listen to a guitar cry!!!!!!!

Re: A MUST SEE FOR ALL!!!!
YouTube didn't like me when I tried that vid, took so long to load that I gave up...I'll try it again later, sounds like it's pretty good. I've always meant to check out some of his stuff anyway.

I would say it's one of the greatest guitar performances, and this is indeed one of my favorite songs, You and I seem to favor a lot of the same musicians, the only thing that strikes me odd are the last 2 remarks you made, why on earth would you say that Gary is not the most technical or fastest, his technique is impeccable an he is really fast, he may be not as fast as say Impellitteri but who is counting? before Gary got heavily into the Blues, I'm sure you know he was considered a shredder and a darn good one at that. As far as no one being able to play with feeling and vibrato the way he does you are right, after all there is only one Gary Moore but there are others who can play with the same amount emotion and vibrato in their own right, you might want to check for example
Michael Schenker
and I recommend you to Listen to "Born to lose" from the UFO days and see for yourself. Having said that, in the end we both agree that Gary is a tremendous musician.

Re: A MUST SEE FOR ALL!!!!
Great to see, and more importantly, to hear Gary play...The feeling, dynamics, tone and melodic development is what its all about to me .... and that is a great example of it all in one package... Just reminded me how much I really need to practice my bends... its funny to see that half the notes he plays are really two to four frets above what hes playing...

I didn't mean to take away from Gary's shreading ability, I figure people from this forum are use to the like's of VAI, Satch, Yngwie ect. If there was one guitarist I could emulate out of them all, yes it would be Gary Moore. He never seem to get the respect like the respect he gets from the guitarist world. Anybody else out there think he too should one day join the G3 Team???
