Yeah, of course there were mistakes as there are with most contestants and he fully acknowledged that. He himself didn't understand how he won and just attributed it to the One Upstairs. I didn't enter because I suck at the blues otherwise I would have whooped everyone's a$$es lol j/k
From what I understand, the judges based most of their decision upon originality because they go through literally hundreds of people playing pentatonics really well, but not really sounding any different from the other.
He has one song that was on the King of the Blues website early on in the competition where he sings and you'd never guess that he wasn't a Cajun (or a drunk one at that).
Anyways, I'm sure there were lots of players technically better, but I feel he won based upon the spirit behind the playing. Either way, I'm just glad he won
