Too bad the demos are all different and also recorded by some spasticated player that can't even keep time.
Also listening to these - not a true representation of what most of these amps can achieve, the guy just pluged in, spent 2 min dialing a tone and proceded to show the internet comunity that his guitar playing skills are on par with his tone dialing skills.

I think it's a poor reference. I guarantee what could be cranked out of these amps is 5 times what it is on these recordings....to actually get a good reference of comparison of anything, you'd have to actually do something more than recording in clean channel and then setting the dirty channel to 3. This does nothing for me.

I think it's prety cool. Although it could never demonstrate every possible tone from the amps, it gives you some idea of how they sound.

I like the sound of the Orange AD140.

The JCM 800 tone is pretty much spot on. I own a JCM 800 2204 (single channel 50 watt head) and the tone is pretty much what I get out of mine.

I thought it was a good reference. Next time somebody posts "should I get a marshall or a mesa" just send em here and maybe it will help a few people out.

Doesn't this thread deserve a sticky? Mods should stick and lock it so it can be used as a reference.
