Nice job filming. You framed the shots perfectly.

And now for the flame. Those two guys put together harmonized melodies in a day, played some goofy solos in tribute to a guy who wore one glove and walked on his toes alot, and did it on probably a single rehersal. Steve and Andy have turds that can play better than probably everyone on this site. They were doing what they do. If you don't like endless noodling and guitar ****ery, don't hang around a forum dedicated to a guitar designed for noodling and ****ery. I know everyones entitled to an opinion, and I know this is one, but does everybody like to crap on people just to crap on people? The internet truly exposes how much people suck sometimes.

Sorry - I still think this is still pointless noodling. I've noticed that a lot of times when Vai plays live he just goes into "masturbation" mode on the guitar and this is what you end up with, something that goes nowhere.
Yes the Jem/RG series of guitars may be suited to fast playing but that doesn't mean that everything coming out of them has to be a ****fest, also I don't think this forum is dedicated to mindless noodling either. There have been some great tunes and playing on the Jem/RG as well as stuff that's shown up from players on this site from time to time. So if you don't mind, I'll reserve my privilege to keep hanging around the forum hoping from time to time to hear something inspirational.

So, after all that rant, you still agreed with most of us that it sucked.......

Re: Andy Timmons & Steve Vai - Beat it RIP Michael Jackson

I wouldn't say it sucked. It just wasn't the best I've seen from either of them. They looked like they were having fun. I'll cut some slack if they don't improvise a FTLOG solo everytime.

I never said the forum was dedicated to mindless noodling. I said the forum was dedicated to a guitar designed for endless noodling. I'll agree that many fine pieces of music have been composed on a Jem/RG.

Re: Andy Timmons & Steve Vai - Beat it RIP Michael Jackson

The song sucked donkey d1ck period. No need to excuse the performance just because it was vai and timmons butching the song. I agree with guitvai1, in that some great song have been played on RG's and Jems. If you want an example, watch the video performance of Vai at the Grammy's with the chick that sings "I'm like a bird" (I can't remember her name).

Abwalsh, not everything Vai plays is incredible.

I never said it was. My point was that everyone expects everything Vai plays to be incredible everytime. Sometimes he's average. I wouldn't say what he played sucked. Just wasn't that interesting. But I guess either it's great or its sh!t. No in between. I wonder what that makes Kiss.
