Bach violin piece on my RG...

Recorded this with my RG570 and PodXT into Cakewalk Home Studio 2004XL. This is still a work in progress, as I am trying to play it cleaner.

Hope you like it and please comment on anything!

Bad Link. I always that problem with the Yahoo server. Why don't you just post the link your Briefcase.

nice playing! sounds like a very hard piece to play, especially nearer the end.

I like it a lot, but some of your runs need to be a tad more fluid, it seems like during the scalar runs you are a bit choked, like you know the piece, but your fingers are hesitant to play the notes.

Where did you get the backing music?

I'd love to learn that peice.

Thanks for the kind words.

bammbamm,

The backing music I actually entered note by note from the sheetmusic for this piece into Cakewalk Home Studio 2004XL. The sheetmusic was arranged for string quartet (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello). HS has got a standard notation editor that's pretty easy to use, but a little time consuming, but it sure is faster than learning how to play it!

If you like, I can send you the midi file.

I play violin too! and I thought this would be a good way to expand my knowledge of the guitar by learning something that was originally written for another instrument. It's taken me a good 6-7 months to get this to where it's at right now. I'm still working on my technique though...

Rob, I would love the midi for it.
I also played violin up until I got into high school.
I wish I'd stuck with it, but I recently picked up a cello and have been using that off and on for some time. VERY expressive instrument once mastered.

Just use the email tab so a spam crawler doesn't get my email addy if you don't mind.

bammbamm,

I would love to learn cello. Very moving instrument.

The midi file is up in my yahoo briefcase. Enjoy!

The composer is J.S. Bach, and the name of the piece is Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, BWV 1041.

The one I recorded is actually only the first movement called Allegro. There are 2 other movements (Andante and Allegro Assai) - don't know when I'll be getting to those!
