Beautiful Shawn Lane Clip

I've been watching this clip frequently for quite sometime now, and I thought I'd share it. It's of Shawn Lane performing one of his songs, "Not Again", although he adds a few twists that differ from the studio version recorded a few years later. This clip was recorded at Bombay Bicycle Club (what is now Bosco's at Overtone Square) back in 87.

Watch all of it! It's amazing. His sense of melody, harmony, tone, and technique is truly inspiring.

Yep, that one is on my favourites list. I also like "Unknown No. 2" from the same guy who uploaded that vid. Amazing stuff.

I like the original better. That album is incredible especially if you appreciate it as a whole rather than just the guitar work, imo the piano concerto was the best track on the album.

Illusions is probably my favorite.

I like the way he opens "Not Again" on that video better than the studio one.

Does anyone know the real title of that "Unknown No. 2" video I was talking about? I don't think it was ever released.

I think it is and will always be a mystery. Kinda adds a new mysterious depth to the song, if you ask me...

I love it as well...

He was a pretty good guitar player!!! I just never really could get into his music!

Pretty good. Haha, come on Oliver, he was nothing short of phenomenal.

I wouldn't imagine you'd be into his music though, being more of an 80's metal man and all that. Skill-wise he was almost unrivaled apart from Holdsworth, and even then I'm not 100% sure on that, but Allan is approximately 20 years older than Shawn, so who knows how Shawn would sound at his age? The thought of it scares me! I would probably give up playing if I could hear that.
