Beirut Rocking Under The Bombs
Hey folks, those pics were taken from a jam i did with a couple of friends in a Pub under the Israeli bombing of Lebanon that lasted for 33 days killing 1000 civilians. we thought of this way to show a message of peace.
The
bass drum
beat was often syncopated by Israeli air raids and shellings. enjoy the pics!

Sorry, mods, can't let this one be.
"The Israeli bombing of Lebanon" ?!?!
"Killing of 1000 civilians" ?!?!
"Message of Peace" ?!?!?!
First of all, let's not forget who started this "bombing of Lebanon", when Hezbollah made tunnels into Israel and kidnapped a few of it's citizens. That was the beginning of this whole thing.
Secondly, "killing of 1000 citizens". Oh I forgot, what does the Hezbollah military uniform look like again? Oh yeah, they dress like civilians so they can surround themselves with women and children after they launch a rocket at Israel simply for existing. Then when Israel destroys them they can come out and say "Oooh terrible Israel killing our women and children" STFU. And oh yeah, as many as 250-300 rockets PER DAY were fired from Lebanon into Israel.
Message of PEACE?!?!?! If you want to send a message of Peace, how about Lebanon DISARM Hezbollah as they have promised to do numerous times. But instead, they vote them into positions in the Lebanese government.
How great is it that Lebanon says to the world, "We can not stop or control Hezbollah while they kidnap Israelis and fire 250-300 rockets a day at Israel FROM Lebanon. Then when the Israelis handle the problem themselves Lebanon says OHHH Israel has invaded us. Get real.
Hezbollah kidnaps Israeli soldiers through a tunnel and then surrounds themselves with women and children as they run away so that they have nasty pictures of them dead to put on the evening news.
Choices are being made, lines are being drawn. Think about whose side you want to be on...

Gilk, i am against hezbollah, and i consider it a terrorist organization because it targets civilians, but my take on the israeli government, is its negligence and merciless bombings of civilians, israel claims to be an anti terror country, and lets say hezballah was using the lebanese civilians as human shields, didnt israel neglect the 101 rule of counter terrorism: Do not jeopardize hostage life in a hostage situation? even if a hezballah terrorist hides between children, would u still engage the target???

Re: Beirut Rocking Under The Bombs
Ralph, yes, I emphatically WOULD. And here is why:
When you let terrorists surround themselves with women and children and/or hostages, and you don't attack them, you have just given them a way to do business. If you find them and kill them immediately, it send the message to them that, guess what, that old trick isn't going to work anymore. It sucks for the hostages and women and children the FIRST few times they do it, but it SAVES countless more lives in the future because they will stop using something that does not work.

Re: Beirut Rocking Under The Bombs
Now for Israel. What would you have them do?!?!?!?! If an apartment building next to your home (say 4 stories) has one family in it that keeps shooting at you and your family everytime you leave your house, you will probably call the police. Police come, look through the apartments and tell you, "Sorry, we didn't find any weapons and no one will tell us who is doing it."
Next day same thing happens, you go to the landlord of the apartment. He tells you the same thing as the police, no one knows anything about it, right?
You know damn well which family is shooting at you, and now that family is giving money and presents to everyone in that apartment building so they will let them hide their guns in their apartments to shoot at you.
Look, eventually, if you follow this to it's logical conclusion, you have to make a choice. 1. You are going to stay and fight them, or 2. you will leave.
Israel is not going anywhere so it has to fight them. How would you do it? Eventually you walk over to that apartment building and you start going through the rooms. And of course EVERYONE in that apartment says they don't know what you are talking about. So when you get shot at from a room in the building you destroy that room. Oh that room belonged to a 10 year old girl. Oh well, tough luck, the family should not have allowed bad guys to shoot at Israel from that room then.
The only alternative is that Israel just sit there and get shot at and kidnapped all day long, is that what you are saying they should do?? Because that is the only alternative to fighting them. The Hezbollah have chosen their tactics, to surround themselves with women and children. If the Lebanese don't like Israel bombing their homes, then perhaps they should stop hiding rockets in their basement and letting Hezbollah launch them from their backyard. A lot of Lebanese people are "playing stupid", the poor innocent who have no idea what is going on. Get real, the rockets in your basement should be a clue, telling you that you have indeed chosen a side. Now don't cry when Israel does what it has to do, what Lebanon WON"T do, disarm Hezbollah and get Iran and Syria the hell out of your country's affairs. If you stand by and watch and do nothing but act innocent and stupid, you will feel the same fate as those (Iran, Syria) using your country for their own little war.

I personally do not agree with ur logic, i told u i condemn every side for targeting civilians, anyway as musicians, we should send a message of peace instead of a message of war. so maybe a cool jam between us is far better than contious fighting. i hope Israel and Hezbollah both cool down for the sake of innocent peace seaking civilans in Lebanon and Israel.

Re: Beirut Rocking Under The Bombs
Ralph, A cool jam between us would be the best solution. I certainly hope they all cool down also, but let's be honest, this is FAR from just "Israel and Hezbollah". There is a movement happening in the world right now, and it isn't going to stop until a conclusion is met. I wish it weren't so, and I wish you and I could "Jam" it away, but that isn't the world in which we live. Please don't take any of this personally Ralph, as I don't know you nor you me, so this isn't personal in any way. But if you do not agree with my logic, then what would your solution be? I don't ask for any other reason except I honestly want to know what anyone else would do. The leader of Hezbollah even publicly said that if he knew his action would have resulted in this kind of devastation to the people of Lebanon that he would not have done it. This validates my argument. If you see the results of your actions harmed more than helped you, you will choose different tactics. I guarantee you that Hezbollah will think twice before it kidnaps Israelis from inside of Israel again. And maybe some of the Lebanese will tell them "Hell no, you aren't using my backyard again" because of what happened this time.
