.. just think on me trying to do it at the 22nd.

Wis Redz of Silvanost, is not as difficult as it looks. just memorize and try different "ways" on the 3rd and 4th arpegio (if I remember well) in the case you cannot play as it is on your tab.
..was your Trick Jim?

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

its easier to fret on the neckpickup and wiggle the bar a little anyways, plus people freak out *EVEN MORE* when i do this, their like wow hes not even playing on the neck! lol. I seem to remember some guy who does this alot by raising the polepieces on his pickups. He even used some kind of piezo thing behind the locking nut and tuned the headstock to open chords after locking the thing down. CRAZY cant remember the guys name though for the life of me

My only problem is with the arpeggio's the rest is easier imo. I'm now past half speed slightly. Btw, I changed to alternate picking again

Still I want to hear some of you guys' records of this piece :P

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

Steve Morse can play 6 strings arpeggios at light speed using alternate picking, check out "tumeni notes" you get so much more clarity with the notes using alternate picking, but its certainly alot harder to play and get it up to speed as oppose to sweeps

Well guys I find myself progressed. I play the arps with alternate picking and I got up to 110. I'll nail this thing!

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

And yet, no one has yet uploaded a sample of them playing this well-known guitar solo thingy. I don't have any aspirations of being able to play the WHOLE THING but I would like to hear someone aside from Steve Vai do it....

Hey Man !!!
If you've got Real Player (or Unreal player - less bugs!) you can check this video out.

Go to Media-Videos-Race against time (with Crossroads intro)
http://www.marcelcoenen.com/

He does the Trick Bag at the begining of one of his own tunes.

Hope this helps!

That one is without the sweeps though; it's only the 'jumpy' part. Not that Marcel couldn't do it but still...
