Ok,

You have all forced me to start trying to nail this fully and completely. I promise that I will put in 30mins everyday.

This may not sound like much, but I have a 5 month old son, and a long commute, and I am building my first custom guitar from scratch.

The first time in 3 months I picked up a guitar for more than 10 mins was Saturday night. I was testing an evo I had put in the neck pos. of my DT 350, it rocked. Seriously though I now suck after not practicing for weeks, so the trick bag will be my goal.

Ok, well I put in the first 30-40mins last night. And now I have a sore wrist.

I was literally just picking the first arpeggio for all that time. I got quite fast actually, but I can see that this will take some time.

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

Well I have managed half an hour a day (except yesterday). I actually went and bought a metronome, rather than use the free internet ones, so now I can practice it anywhere.

It actually isn't that complex in terms of notes to learn, but it needs ALOT of repetitive exercising to get it clean at speed.

Must keep trying.

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

I still need to work on those arpeggios at the beginning but I've posted the part that I am able to play - with a few sour notes here and there

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=404246

Update:
I have finally added the ending run.

Wow, that was pretty damn good. You must've practiced that for a long time to get it down that good. And that tone is very, very nice.

Thanks all! I used my JPM P3 going through a Johnson J-Station on the "J Solo" setting directly into Cakewalk.

It seems that once I start to record myself, all the bad notes just seem to show up -- so it only took 60 or so takes (and much cursing along the way) to get a final recording. If I ever get the arpeggios down, I'm just going to splice the recordings together and post a final version.

Re: Can anybody play eugene's trick bag?

Well I have got the first arpeggios OK. unfortunately I haven't been able to practice for over a week (busy at work, baby playing up). The last time

The annoying thing is that I was in my local guitar shop, chatting to my tech, and trying out a new EVH Charvel (muchos overpriced BTW), and we were chatting about my progress in learning the piece, and he just starts playing the first bit WHILE HE IS TALKING TO ME. I am going to have to stop going there if I wish to retain any self-esteem.

LMFAO That's the funniest thing I've heard this week, and I bet he was grinning whilst he did it too.
