Alot of parts are out of key, but the technique is good. It's an improv, and i'm not dissing on your playing. It sounds good, it'd be cool to hear a thought out idea from you that has been practiced and planned.

Hmm, where to start. Yes, you should learn music theory, it helps massively in every aspect of playing (or at least has for me). By learning music theory you'll know what to play over a given
chord progression
.
The chords you've listed here would indicate the key of E minor. The key of E minor consists of the notes E, F#, G, A, B, C, D. When in the key of E minor use these notes. If you play a note that isn't one of these, then you are 'out of key'.
Hope this helps.

Not really no, sorry. Try searching in google. I learnt all my theory from books, lessons and DVD's.

Yeah, sorry. My mistake. The rules are the same though.
I guess this is the difficulty of trying to explain music theory without a guitar handy. This is the problem of getting mixed up between major and minors. If it is A minor then the key is E minor in this case as A major is in B minor. Indeed, this is the only different note between the two keys. B minor has a C# where E minor has a C. I'll check it next time. B minor it is then.

i am downloading it now but i just wanted to comment on the theory stuff this might help if the song is in b minor then improvising in d major should sound nice over it too as b is the rrelative minor to the key of g
(or bm is the aeolion mode of the g major scale and they share the same notes just a different root note)
sorry if that didnt make sense i am self taught as far as playing and theory is conerned but i do believe this is correct
if i happen to have gotten it wrong can someone please correct me

hey bro i liked it it was cool. the messy parts only really seem like you were just feeling around the neck and that comes with improvising man. if you are a fan of improv check out some of mine there is a few different styles there but they are pretty old. again they are not the neatest things in the world but they have a lot of emotion and were very fun to play

hope you enjoy tell me what you think either here or at my message board at the site where the songs are (link on the top right says message board)
