Couch revisited :>> new family members

Now.. I got rid of crappy basswood guitars :> RG770DXLB and JPMP4 were sold, now I went for great mahogany axe AT300AV and I'm not looking at Iby's anymore. And another Fender in my collection - Deluxe Plus from 89.
So from left to right:

Fender Strat Deluxe Plus 89, Fender Custom Shop Set Neck Strat 92, JB signature Strat 98, Ibanez Andy Timmons Signature AT300AV 04, EJ Signature Strat 05 and PRS Custom 22 03

this pic is actually not valid anymore As in EJ I have stock pickups back and in beck there's blue velvet neck, lace sensor middle and tone zone in the bridge.

Awesome. I love the look of the AT300.

I nearly bought a Strat Deluxe (with the vintage style floyd bridge) last week off evilbay, but stopped myself .

Nice, and major respect for tracking down all these axes in Poland (not the best of guitar markets out there).

Nice collection!

Couch pics rule.

The Fender Custom Shop Set Neck Strat is my favourite.

Re: Couch revisited :>> new family members

yeah, poland is one crappy guitar market... all guitarwannabe copies and so on... on the hi end instruments the prices are from the outer space. For example.. EJ Strat here costs almost 2900$ !! While in US it is 1500$ - insane ! I bought EJ and Deluxe Plus from US ****er and I couldn't be happier.

I know ibanez lovers are looking strangely at me.. but these shredlittlemachines are just artificially sounding with no character, no balls and no soul. They are designed to go through a 100 km chain of effects and sound like midi. That's my opinion. If you want to know what's the guitar is worth just plug it into your tube amp and crank it. Gibson, Fender, PRS will shine. Basswood iby will be just a hard-to-describe-mediocre-something.

And I had a lot of Iby's...

Like the man says, it's his opinion. I disagree. My collection is getting more Ibanez-esque every month.

And I've had a lot of Fenders.

+1. My RG550 just doesn't have that "mojo" that my Strat has. Not only have I noticed this, but my bandmates have as well. I've yet to place my finger on it. I think the wood (alder vs. basswood) has alot to do with it as well.

Yeah... that's right fellas, and try to modify one of your strats if you have a chance and then compare it to the Iby... You can only rewire strat with HSH and then you've got GIGA solo sound, iby don't even come close. So much more character, juice and balls...

I assume that's why Steve prefers Alder in EVO.

I really want a regular alder bodied RG with an HH or HSS config...
