Couple quick little FSS jams

Me also "playing" the drums.

This is a new tune I just started on today. It's got a way to go, but here's a few ideas. I like to just jam along with a progression for a while and see what comes out. Sometimes it's good stuff, sometimes it's nonsense. Record, listen for a day or so, go back and record again with some fresh ideas. Eventually some gold is mined in the process.

Re: Couple quick little FSS jams

Not sure why I'm doing this to myself. I suck so bad as a drummer. Hard to believe that playing drums is so hard. Drummers make it look so easy too.

The search for parts for this tune continues. Here's the next step in the evolution. There's a few little gems in here that need polished. I'll need to find a "theme" or 'chorus' to center around still.

really diggin the rhythm tone panned to the left on those recordings, the lead sounded great too, wish it was doubled and panned hard left n right though.. i was worshiping your clips of the FSS that you posted when you first got it (metaphorically)

Re: Couple quick little FSS jams

Something I noticed about my speaker situation. I like the 30's because I think they sound darker than the 25 greenback that is in my FSS. But the FSS is a dark amp to begin with. This weekend I left the cab at home and just mic'd the combo with the 23, and liked it better.

DARN nice clip there brother. very well done.
what speaker was that? I had a HRDelux, but don't remember what speaker it had. But I did prefer it running into my v30 cab.

Re: Couple quick little FSS jams

Shane Regal www.shaneregal.com and I used to write songs together, we played Jemfest a couple times.(Jeff Abercrombie bass player from Fuel played bass with us one year) Shane moved away a couple years ago, and is coming back to play a few song with me on April 19th. My kids are also playing with us. So in an effort to make it easy for the kids, I'm using one old song we played together that the kids picked up easily. But I'm also trying to pull this tune together. This is the evolution of the clips above. I want it to be easy to play, since we wont have alot of time to work on it. But we used to write all kinds of crazy harmony stuff. This is where it's at at the moment. Still very rough, but if you listened to the other clips, you hear it evolving. Also, we aren't playing for a bunch of shredders, so we can keep it simple and people will still dig it.

Don't ask me why I didn't play to a click.

The left/right panned riffs will be me and Shane trading riffs, likely all improv on the 19th, challenging each other...like a duel. The 2nd verse that this clip doesn't make it too, I think I'll have the parts we play be a bit longer, so we can set up better riffage to challenge the other with.

Re: Couple quick little FSS jams

I just discovered that wma's sound much better than mp3's and only a tad bigger file size.

It's coming along nicely.

Check it out.

That version just above is with 2 solo guitars. As it will be live. This is just one.

Re: Couple quick little FSS jams

This stuff would sound SO BADASS through a Marshall. FSS is a bit too dark for my tastes. I like the thickness of it, but I don't like the lack of top end.

I agree. The FSS does lack that 'bite'. I demo'd a Tiny Terror this weekend. I'm in love with it to be sure. Not willing to part with the FSS though. And don't have extra cash at the moment for the TT. But it's on my list now.
