I've updated my cover of "Hurt" with something inspired by the local weather (what you hear in the song is mild compared to what we've had literally every day for the last week here, unfortunately I recorded it at a weak point, but edited it to sound like there's more than there is).

I've also recorded my first guitar instrumental track. It's far from done, it's just a rough take, and I missed many a note in the solo But it's a cover of Evanescence's "My Immortal" (an experiment in solo phrasing I guess).

I listened to "Hurt" a few weeks back, following the link off the ERG forum. I think i gave you some feedback on it there... don't know the original too well, but i dug your rendition, although the harmonies at the end sounded.... odd. Was someone else singing those? it's not that they were bad, but it sounded like a few different voices...

Nope, they were all me on vocals I tend to get the comment "Wow, that doesn't sound like you" on my singing If you heard "Hurt" before then there's nothing much changed, but I added something. The original Nine Inch Nails version is very processed, and has a sort of mechanical droning sound in the background. Since I was trying for mostly natural instruments (Electric guitars, w/ some distorted drum samples) I added the sound of rain/thunder in the background, which I recorded out my bedroom window, then edited to sound bigger than it did initially (mainly cut it in three and made it left, center, right).
