David T Chastain


Anyone else here into him?
Back in my shred obsession of the late 80's/early 90's, he was my hero, and is still my favorite metal player to this day.

not really my cup of tea. sounds like his right hand and left hand are out of sync on most of his runs. and while i can appreciate 'out' notes, his seem to be random and ill chosen. but different strokes for different folks...

I think he is a very good guitar player I had all his Chastain stuff with the chick singer and some of his instrumental stuff I also have his instructional video!

I have his instructional video too- i think it's a lot better than most, since he doesn't spend the hour teaching you his "10 hottest licks and picking exercises", but instead shows you the different scales he uses, then plays them with the band so you can hear how those scales sound in a musical context.
