Fender Highway One Video

Have you guys seen it?
http://www.fender.com/highwayone/
then choose video

Anyways there are some licks that really got me after the guy says "performance" and they replay that 100 times. Can anyone recommend me some blues guitarists who have a similar style? ive never been into blues and i only know a few blues guitarists and i dont know where to start
thanks

Stevie is one of the very few guitarists i already know. Do you know any others that have a similar style? Not the slow typa blues like gary moore. The twangy, faster blues like stevie

Check out Johny Hilland. He is on Vai's Favored Nations label. If you like SRV, you might like Kenny Wayne Shepherd's early stuff too.

Also Andy Timmons came to my mind but I think he is a rock guitarist rather than a blues man but he can play blues too and he sometimes uses some cool blues style licks.

Re: Fender Highway One Video

+1 Albert King

Jimi Hendrix
Chris Duarte
Corey Stevens
Doyle Bramhall II
Robert Cray
John Mayall's Blues Breakers, after Clapton

The style you are looking for is Texas Blues; but don't stop there. There are tons of blues cats that are amazing.

Re: Fender Highway One Video

Most texas blues is based on sped up blues licks anyways, take a heavy slow blues tune and speed it up, like Clapton did with crossroads and you have instant super blues. Thats rock and roll mate. If you go back and study anything its sped up blues licks etc.
