Dude, that sounds way too high gain. I have a Zoom G7 too and can get awesome sounds out of it.
First of all turn the gain down. I'm guessing you were using something like the ExtremeDS patch or something. On many of the
high gain amp sims you can use 0-30 and get a real heavy gain sound.
Use the prescence and harmonics settings in the EQ sparingly. Too much makes your tone ring really painfully. And please put some bass in there. Turn the overall tone control in the EQ down to around 15.
If you are using the wah booster setting dont go past the 3 setting for the frequency (I think that's what it's called - I'm at work and can't remember).
You probably forgot to set the cabinet sim for recording too I'm guessing.
For a good high gain sound I use the Marshall Drive (JCM2000 amp sim) with the gain set to 0 and use the wah booster setting at around 5 I think with the frequency setting for the boost at about 2-3.
Use the Cubase LE software that came with the Zoom, it's great and easy to use for beginners. Does a great job.
If you need some assistance with the Zoom check out thestompbox.net forums. Plenty of people there with the Zoom G series stuff with vast knowledge of it. There's a "patchatorium" there too.
If you want, write out the settings for that patch you created and pm them to me. I'll give it a go to adjust it a bit more and send it back to you.
