Forum Jam! Roll up, roll up!!!

Alright guys,

I've had quite a long time away from the guitar now and am getting back into it. I think it would be good to do a forum jam. I got a good backing track that I think you will recognise, so I'm wondering if people would like to take turns soloing over it? Its in sections, I'd go first, then send it to the next person. They would send me their files and then the process would continue! I'd finish it off by putting it on you tube with track markers so we can look at it!

How about it? Dont worry about 'level or 'chops' worry about having fun! Dont concern yourself with having to go out and buy the (awesome) axefx before either, anything will do! I will be using a line 6 pod...

I will e mail you the details about the track, if you need them!

So who is up for it???

Chris.

Running order....

1) Big Job
2) Rachmaninoff
3) nato101010

File has been sent to all people for solo number 3.....so get recording!

What kind of format would the sound file have to be in?

Alright guys!

I've found a way of sorting this out! I have recorded the first solo - which is over the naked vamp of 'Still me bleeding heart' and I have left the next section free...So What I would like you to do is record your turn after the one that I play, but here is what you need to do....

1) Record a mix down with my solo then yours.

2) Send me an mp3 of your solo so I can put it into the backing track.

This way I dont have to wait for everyone to do it and we can really get started!!!

Do we not know the order? We should wait for each person so it will turn out better so we can match the phrasing. but w/e this is faster haha.
s.
And how are you going to line up our mp3 of the solo with the backing track?lol

i agree with guitarevan.

you know what would be cool.... do you guys have video cams? film yourself recording your solo, emailing your final video clip from the audio that was used. that should be put on youtube. infact, i wouldn't mind handling the video edit portion of it. i would just need the FINAL AUDIO CLIP and all the video clips from each player, along with their name. i would put their name on their clip!

i wouldn't mind getting in on this.

Well my reasons for doing it like this were to sort of eliminate any 'one up man ship'. As this is the first one I've done I thought I'd do it a little differently. It works fine as well!

Rachmaninoff sent me his ISOLATED solo, with a little of mine tagged on the frount. So all I did was line it up with my solo which is metered to the start of the track and it was all good! Its sounding good too. This was I can mix it down all at a sensible level too.

Please see the first page for running orders.

Once this one is done I have a load of other cool backing tracks and I think it would be awesome to do a video one. For the time being I think that simply having a picture of whatever you like over the section you solo over would be a compromise.
