I think he use to be a better player in his younger days, you know....before I was born hahaha

Also he should write some new stuff I'm tired of Mr Scary being like the only song people know from him

man, that was ferocious. i've seen george play mr. scary live several times and the beauty of lynch is that you will never hear 2 identical versions live. he seems to have gotten to that point in his playing where he really can move seamlessly between rhythm and lead, where the line between 'filling' and playing rhythm is so blurred. i love it.

that being said, lynch is the epitome of inconsistency! i've seen him at the last 2 dallas guitar shows and it was just bad. the one earlier this year was plagued with sound issues and poor equipment. he brought this old old ass marshall cab (it looked like it was falling apart) and his tone was horrid. and he was jamming with some local band who had learned some dokken/lynch mob the night before, lol. the year before that, he was just jamming on covers of tunes with a local blues band and he did more lead-playing than anything else. but when he is in his element (which is the lynch mob band), playing his tunes, he's always been amazing. i hope i get to see them soon.

That was pretty cool although his tone is a little trebly for my taste.
Like newbie I do like his ESP

That was some of the best playing i've heard from Lynch in probably 10 years. Maybe working with Oni again has him fired up and hungry?
Definitely going to check out the rest of the clips- thanks for the heads up!

I agree with the comment on GL's inconsistency.
Each time I have seen him I have been dissapointed, by his tone, his lack of technique, and his notorious nack of trying out new equipment on paying customers.

He has a tendency to get new gear and try it our live rather than getting the kinks worked out before hitting stage.

But I will say the he is easily within my favorite 5 guitarist.

I worked with and am still pretty good friends with his guitar tech from Beast from the East (Dokken) up until Wicked Sensation (Lynch Mob).

I usually reserve comment on a lot of things about George Lynch, but one thing is for sure that the dude is a total gear endorsement whore. He often promises to use companies' gear in exchange for endorsement and then never uses it.

Nonetheless, I don't think anyone would disagree that he's a kick ass player. He appears to be back in full form and I'm glad.
