hey black jakk :] - nice videos, although i have to say that movimento perpetuo is not gonçalo's work, but from the late carlos paredes.

carlos paredes was a fado guitarist, with a perfect sense of melody vs speed phrasings...it's amazing to hear some of his most famous works. carlos paredes was also an activist during Salazar's regime, earning him some years in prison. anyway, we are not in a history class :P

fado is a typical portuguese musical genre, which uses classical and portuguese guitars, and usually a solo vocalist. the portuguese guitar is similar to a typical 12 string guitar, but with a very short neck (about half of an electric guitar neck) and an oval body. if anyone is interested, i recommend hearing paredes' version of movimento perpetuo, also at the same speed, but played with fingerpicking.

just try to imagine it.
