Hippiepower.mp3

I downloaded this backing from here many, many moons ago and have since been noodling over it.

I have done a forum search cannot find the original post.

Does it ring any bells with anyone.

Mods: Can you run some sort of sql query to look at the embedded urls?

I guess the alternative it to repost it myself and get you guys to suggest some nice scales for me??

@notsecure4u haha no i'm not referring to you, i'm referring to a Nick that lives in the usa

@bloodandtears

hahaha yeah that's the backing i was talkin' about!

This backing was made by my guitar teacher (Age Kat) in 2001 somewhere i posted it a while ago on a dutch forum so everybody could record his take over it.

The original title is '' MM rock '' ( major / minor rock )

Some scale suggestions :

As i said before the track is in 2 keys, C major and C minor, so you can use these 2 scales. Of course you can make it more interesting by playing the (arpeggios) relative chord for example C major = A minor

The coolest thing about this track are the chord changes if you get the timing right you can actually play a short chromatic line that will be perfectly in key.

Also try arpeggiating a lot

C major scale = c d e f g a b c

This means you can use a lot of arpeggios from different keys as long as you are using the notes that are in the key of C Major

Arpeggios that can be used in the key of c major:
A min. : a c e
E min. : e g b
G major: g b d
F major: f a c
and so on..

Now try doing some interesting things with C minor..

I hope it's clear for you..

Adios,

ShaQ

I'm still not convinced that those are the correct chords..(are they extended???)

I will play along with it again with these suggested chords when i get chance. Must be just me but I can hear different tonality other than Cmajor or Cminor.

this is a very nice backing track.
I can't wait to hear what everyone does with it!
I want to work with it as soon as I can get my equipment set up to record again.
(just moved to a new house & all my stuff is still in boxes)
