Couldn't find much on him, but Jimmy Johnson (plays with Holdsworth and James Taylor among others) is one of the most talented bass players I've ever heard. Of course, he rips with Allan, but the stuff he does behind Taylor is equally amazing. Beatiful, exquisitly tasteful player, with voice and monster chops. He'd be on my dream team! Sorry I couldn't find a video of him.

Pino Palladino (Paul Young, Go West, The Who) is probly my favorite bass player at the minute. In fact, im gonna go and buy me a fretless Music Man Stingray the weekend, plus a bass chorus.
