how does this mix sound? {mp3}

Hi All

Just sittin around before i head off for my holiday to the gold coast and thought id put down a simple riff to hear how my new audio gear is pairing up.

I must say im really happy with what im getting out of it but i just wanna hear what it sounds like on speakers that arent mine.

http://members.dodo.com.au/jjer/demomix.mp3 right click save as

dont expect awesome riffs or breathtaking solos, there is one riff.....thats all more of a groove tho.

For those tech heads out there...

Using FL Studio
BFD Drum Kit with DW Kit and a Tama Snare

Guitar is Pod XT Live with the Treadplate Amp going analogue out into my DSP 24/96 in stereo (8 input/8output) soundcard (not usb) with 2ms latency. Guitar is doubled and panned left and right respectively

The guitar is my Fender Blackie with the Seymour Duncan Hotrail, guitar tuned to Drop D.

Bass is into my VAMP Pro, going balanced out into my DSP 24 96 in stereo with 2ms latency as well.

The Bass is a cheap Ibanez Ergodyne 300 In Drop D.

The bass has a VST Compressor.

The other drum samples are just random loops that i have found and wacked in there.

Been trying to get a decent sounding mix but im still finding holes in my sound.

i guess this isnt so bad as i only really spent an hour on it.

let me know.

Jim

Not bad for spending an hour on it. The drums and riff work great together, good work! Let's hear more in the future.
