I do like it when he plays that soulful bluesy style, but even then, he just can't hold off the odd fret w@nking run can he?

Playing with feeling is a BS cause what is feeling to one isn't to another.
We're a reunion of what we listen and what we study.
If you only listen ONLY to metal as an example,you'll be only able to play metal and only metal fans will hear feeling in your songs.
The more styles you listen to the richier your music will be.
And OF COURSE knowing how to use technique like when play fast and when play slow or when you need a good melody or a fast 1000 notes per second can bring excitement to your music and keeps people wondering what'll be the next bar.
Feelings = chemical brain reactions.
Push the right buttons and people will get crazy LOL

yea that really fast stuff is actually quite unintelligible and sounds out of place. the rest of it sounds wonderful, though.

I've always considered playing guitar kind of like method acting. Hurt, joy, love... you pour these out of your instrument. This, really, is why I play. It has nothing to do with technique. Technique is just a tool to convey what you're feeling to the audience.

ah just a minute there mate,ive heard many tales that hes a complete ass im not just going from what i heard him say,it just made me think the tales were correct.apparantly hes very difficult to get on with.love him or hate him hes still a fantastic musician.
