Alcatrazz was a really cool band!!!
I loved both incarnations, first with Yngwie and then with Steve. I have that whole concert, it is a great showcase of Vai's technique, he did things with the guitar that I have not seen him do since! Steve really tore it up!!!

Re: I've loved this song for years....
I don't suppose it's ever been released????
I found that clip by accident
I was looking through the Yngwie version from his live video from '85 as i used to have that video years ago, but unfortunately my house at the time was burgled and although very little was stolen (looked like they were disturbed) i lost all my vid's i had at the time which included that Yngwie one and the next one he did,
Van Halen
, DLR, Led Zep, Deep Purple and others
I hate having to buy things twice when i shouldn't have to
I love both Alcatrazz line-ups too. Seriously cool albums

Yes Andy, it was released in VHS format back in the 80's for the Japanese market only. I happen to have both the DVD and the original VHS tape!
cool stuff!!!

Re: I've loved this song for years....
Looks like i've started a cool Alcatrazz appreciation thread here
More cool links IbanezGirl
After my post i decided i need to sit down for a while and search out all the youtube Alcatrazz stuff, you've saved me a bit of time
Funny how he puts the intro to Building the Church in the solo in Breaking the heart of the City!!!
I knew that song was played on a mini guitar, really cool to finally see it!! It's great that for all these years i've liked the band but only ever met one other person that'd heard of them (being my old guitar teacher who introduced me to them!!), and now here's a site where loads of people know them!! Thank **** for the internet
One other cool thing......when i found that clip last night, after it finished when they put a couple of links in the screen to clip on at random, the two that came up were both of Eggy

Re: I've loved this song for years....
Andy, funny you should mention about someone putting you onto Alcatrazz, that's exactly what happened with me too. My neighbour is not only a vai fan, but loves Graham Bonnet's voice, and he suggested a few years ago that i should check out Alcatrazz.
Must admit i like Yngwie's playing more in his Alcatrazz days.
Hiroshima mon amour is a great song, thanks for the link Andy.
No problems, Jim
