JEM7VSBL VLP Ultra-G

Direct recorded signal path was JEM7VSBL, Voodoo Lab Preamp, and Behringer V-AMP Pro (for Ultra-G cab sim).

Re: JEM7V Voodoo Lab Preamp Ultra-G Clip

hi mate,

sounds good

im curious how you used the ultra G sim? its only available throught the balanced xlr outs isnt it? did you take the balanced outs and put them into a mixer and record that?

and how did you plug your voodoo labs preamp into the vamp preamp?

did you set the vamp to bypass but kept the cab sim on? im gonna try a similar thing of running my pod xtlive into my vamp pro or vice versa, i the the amps in the VAMP Pro are better than the Pod XT, but the cab sims on the XT are a lot smarter.

Cheers
Jim

Re: JEM7V Voodoo Lab Preamp Ultra-G Clip

Jim, thanks... I used the regular outputs of the VLP into the front input of the V-AMP PRO (with Line In pushed) and selected a patch (6B I think) and bypassed the V-AMP PRO's preamp by pushing Tuner & Tap at the same time. XLR outputs into my Mackie 1402-VLZ PRO. Hmm... I have an XT Live that I don't like as much as my V-AMP PRO... maybe I'll try the same thing (and also try the cab sims of the XT with the VLP). Here is a REALLY SHORT YJM clip recorded the same way but with a Yamaha PAC-1511MS (Mike Stern Tele):
