Just some clips

I was just messing around with these so don't bash me to bad. I found a new tone which you can hear in the Boss test and i think i might record a better version of the blues with no mistakes and that tone. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=666934

Re: Just some clips

any ideas on making my tone more killer in recording? It sounds great on my mesa but once it goes into the computer it sounds pretty lame

Re: Just some clips

If you are not recording 24bit, you really should be. Look into the Lexicon Omega. Try different positions on the mike in front of the speaker. Try this, move it about 3 to 4 inches away from eh speaker, keep the mic in the center of the speaker, but turn it a little so it's pointing to the left of the cone, about half way from the center of the speaker to the edge. Tunr it up to a moderate level, not too loud. Use an SM57.
Look at the pics I posted in this thread:

One more thing. EQ the amp with it pointing right at your face, not at your ankles.

yeah i'm getting a sm57 from the local philharmonic because they use 58's now and my dad works there so they are just giving it to him. Right now i am in 24bit but i'm using a usb cable from my boss and not micing.
Also it is pointing at my face because it is on top of my bass cab.
