was just testing out recording computer drums live as well as guitar (all done at 1ms latency) - drums are Drumkit From Hell
my guitar sucks, but the drum sounds are good imho

lol well you could be right mate, but i coulnt tell you! i only know that song to keep the drummer happy!
i could be playing it wrong, in the wrong key or on the wrong string! i dont listen to slipknot enough to take notice!

it's cause it's the most interesting and hardest style of drums to play (yes jazz is F'en hard too) but not like metal you actually get a bit of a work out.

I thought fusion/Prog was with all the weird constant time changes and odd polyrhythms.

yep, but as with guitar, its apparently 'harder' and cooler just to play fast. There are a few metal drummers that have that down as well now tho, like the new guy in unearth or jordan from as i lay dying. conincidently my old drummer used to make excuses why he didnt want to play any unearth or as i lay, just killswitch or slipknot.

There's a trill in the verse-riff. In any case, that sounded cool, especially the drums! Never thought an E-kit would sound so good!

wacked rhythms is one thing, but you just don't get the same workout as say playing a blast beat for 1 min straight
i play drums just for fun and it is helpful when wrting a song that i know how to explain things to the drummer
and when i practise at home on my kit i always just put headphones in and jam along to metal ie. slipknot, meshuggah, LOG, and machine head they are the main ones,
anything else would just be boring

Re: lol video of me and my drummer trying to play a slipknot song
workout yeah, but I thought you were talking about the hardest style of drums to play, and straight up blast beats are nothing to pro drummers, then ask them to play some Tool and they look at you like your smokin' crack...

ok i probably should have said the most fun to play, BUT then i wouldn't say meshuggah's easy and i can play nearly 5 of their songs on drums and i find that fun as hell
