LUC-O plays VINNIE MOORE

Hey y'all,

Found this one when I was cleaning out my pc; my version of Vinman's Meltdown, one of my favorite songs by him. It was recorded live during some festival in 2000, directly from the mixing table's line out so the sound isn't all that. There are a few flaws but hey that's li(f)ve!!!

Melt me down;

Woah one of my favourite vinnie moore songs , not bad atall but you dont play alot of the runs properly , and you cheese them off with hammer ons Theres nothing wrong with improvising but yours sounded off key abit , just some advice

Hey thanx Anton!!!

You're absolutely right about the mix, it sucks. But as I said, it comes directly from the mixing table's line out. I happen to have this performance on videotape, the lead is much louder on it, don't know how.

I dig it man. I like the improvising. Personally, I don't have the patience to learn someone elses stuff note for note. You kept the vibe of the song where it should be,,,, it could be reconized which is important. Then you did your "own thing",,, and that is what is cool,,,it was "your version of Vinnie Moores Meltdown".

Very cool man!

I just love Vinnie's rock album!!!

Your Meltdown cover is not bad at all (considering we are talking about one of the top shredders around) but I guess you should work on your technique a tad more. It does sound like you're pushing yourself a bit too much. Very good work anyway!

BTW Did you learn that with a tab or by ear?

Thanx for your opinions dudes!! Glad you took the time to listen.

@ Zero: Yes, I was was pushing myself at the time, because I was pushed by the drummer!!! He played way too fast, that's why it's not so tight sounding as it should (and could) have. But that was four years ago, I can play that song much better now.
I figured it out by ear, but some runs are simply too fast to be exactly figured out. So it's not a note-for-note copy, I threw in some things of my own.
