Very good! I like it a whole lot! I also read about you on your site, and on line in particular stood out.

Thanx a lot! Playing fast is something anyone could do, that's just a matter of discipline. Good songwriting is something else though...

Really cool tune! My only gripe is that you sound too much like Satriani and Vai.

I don't want to be an arsehole, this is constructive criticism.
Ask yourself, what have you done here that Satriani hasn't done a number of times?
Sure it would make an ok Satch song, but that's not what you wanted to write is it?

I agree to an extent, but there is some merit in what he said. There is musical influence, then there is imitation, and this may tend a bit too far towards imitation. Superb track though, and I'm happy to admit being jealous!

Yes , certainly superb. Where has it said he doesn't want to sound like satriani though ? this may be his goal. There are also parts that definitely ARE NOT satch inspired 2:56 - 3 minutes for example.

Hey guys, thanx for your feedback, I consider it a compliment. As a matter of fact, I wanted to write a Satriani/Vai-like tune, and being original really wasn't something I had in mind, I just thought it sounded cool. On the other hand, the bridge of the song (in my opinion) isn't something you would hear in a Satriani tune, would you? It's a bit more heavier I think.
Anyways, thanks for listening!!

Jealous? No. You asked for comments and that's what you get. Did I say anyone was jealous when they (including you Anton) said the outright didn't like surfxpunk's tattoo?
I was just giving my opinion.
For what you were aiming for, then sure it's achieved it's goals. It has that lead guitar instrumental sound, it has a catchy riff. It has better sounding drums than a lot of Satch stuff :P It has obviously good technique. It has a flowing change of harmony.
But it does sound like one of those classic guitar instrumentalist pieces that were huge in the 80s-90s, and are still listened to nowadays, and ARE good pieces, but many of those artists pieces are losing the listeners interest, probably the only reason some of the later releases are bought is because of previous records and listeners being fans.
For what you wanted to do it's great, but you have to ask yourself if that is what YOU want to do as a whole (people can make the point that this is just playing in a certain style, sure but a development of one's own voice is what leads to success -just look at vai satch vaughan hendrix etc etc etc-)

Hey Luc-O, I like it dude. Nice good-time rock vibe to it...goes well with the sunny weather over hear in the UK at the moment
Some nice little runs thrown in there amongst the main themes (like the one around 1:24). And I dig the Zakk squeals.
If you meant to do the Vai Satch thing then I think you pulled it off pretty well (though the main riff reminds me more of Danger Danger!).
Not a bad mix, nice guitar tone on lead and rhythm, but I'd be inclined to drop the cymbals down a bit. They sound 'nasty' in places and tend to swamp the rest of the mix IMO.
I've listened to it a few times now and I'm still diggin' it though. Keep 'em coming

Never mind Satch and Vai - you should be paying
Iron Maiden
royalties.
