Here's what my triaxis sounds like. Pod's just never really sound very close to mesas. I'm sorry.

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
I think it lacks some sort of brightness and a bit of reverb I guess. Don't know what your tone settings are either but it sounds rather flat. Thing is with these tests is that it may sound bad alone, but with a drumkit and a bass guitar it might sound awesome.

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
Well like I said its recorded with no effects, no post work or anything its just a tone I have been working on..
Its funny on this board most say no, but on other forums and even from Mesa users they say its dead on minus a little grit.. haha
Tone is such a weird thing, its very subjective.

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
as long as you love the sound who are we to discourage?
also, im from the new school of "doesnt matter HOW you get your sound, as long as it sounds good"
I use POD`s, V-Amps, GT6`s,
Marshall DSL
Stacks,
MArshall Valvestate
Amps and all sorts, i dont care what i use, as long as the end result is what you want.
if you posted the clip and said "guys i made this sound" and didnt say where it came from or what it was trying to mimic you would probably get more bites, if you want to sound like a mesa, buy a mesa, if you want to be smart about it and sound like YOU, keep doing what you are doing.
I personally congratulate people who record things for others to evaluate, you only get better by playing a better opponent.

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
it really doesnt sound nothing like mesa head i heard im not sure which it was but it was the best sounding head ive ever heard in person
your clip of just the chords sounds to dry and is missing that, almsot reverb sound, and hint of the mid and high, being louder than the lows
i think its sounds more like a marshall with vlume at 3

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
I will re-record one tonight with some effects to liven it up.. It was recorded essentially dry to get a idea and not hide behind effects and reverbs.
I understand nothing will sound like a Mesa but Mesa, but some of us dont have $2000 to throw down on a head. Im not discouraged with what I got, some Mesa users said it sounds more like a Mark series than a Recto.
If I get 40% close to a Mesa sound for what I got into my whole rig including all my rack gear I would be exstatic.
I guess Jemsite is not a place to post modeled sounds
I wish I could afford to be a tone hound but its not possible, my teeth are far more important(see dentistry thread) if it wasnt for that I would be golden but im not.
I struggle for every piece of gear I get, a $99 rack piece may be nothing to some but to me its a luxury im lucky to afford..

Re: Mesa Tone test.. Good, Bad, Excellent???
Want to buy a set of paint brushes???..... just kidding!
It doesn't sound like a Mesa to me, so I voted "bad"..... besides that, the whole point is whether you like it. Screw the rest of us and our opinions. Not bad for one type of rhythm tone though. Not one I would use all the time. But workable.
