i didnt go for a traditional head,

i went for the vamp pro and a ep2500 (1200w x2) stereo power amp,

i can plug the gt6 straight into the amp too but now i can get any sound on earth

i paid $2500 all up in asutralian dollars. and i got a fair bit of stuff too, good deal all up.

i didnt get the slanted cab coz they were simply out of stock, and i wanted it before december, the straight stack looks cool tho

That would the kind of setup that I would like to have. I wish I could afford that kind of stuff. I want to get rit of my damn Cube 30......

I would really like to know any opinions about sound quality of the V-amp Pro compared to the V-amp2 though.
I have been hearing really good things about the V-amp Pro ( lot's of people say it blows Line6 away) but haven't really heard alot about the V-amp2.....

Let's make my first post a usefull one

The modelling in the V-Amp2 and V-Amp Pro is exactly the same. They have the same DSP and the same 32 amp models etc. The difference is in the connection possibilities. The V-Amp 2 has 2 unbalanced jackplugs out, while the Pro has balanced XLR's out as well.
I heard, but not sure, that there is a difference in the cabsim.

Anyways, I have a V-Amp2 and when I bought it, I did an A/B with a Line6 Pod, and the V-Amp really did sound better for me. It does not have as many effects built-in though, but the ones it does have are not bad at all. If you are interested in one, I'd really suggest you test them before buying.

Last time I was at Guitar Center, the v-amp-2 was going for a hundred bucks. I thought it was a good deal at $150. I think it mostly sounds great.

In my experience, there is some kind of weirdness in some of the high gain settings, a hard to describe kind of subtle transient discontinuity n the distortion which bothers me a bit, and makes me think twice about recording with it, (or it would if I could play anything worth recording, that is) but it makes a great practice amp with headphones, and live, I imagine this subtle imperfection would likely be completely masked by the gross imperfection of the typical PA system, etc.

Since we're on the subject of v-amp pro...

I'm trying to record with one that I recently just got...and I don't know what it is exactly, but I get an ASSLOAD of noise in my bridge and of course single position. I mean it's so much noise that I can't record anything with this guitar in the bridge position. My guitar teacher has always told me that it's the wiring in the house that makes the ground problem so bad in 5 way situations...but I'm not sure...I know it has to do with my guitar most likely, but i'm asking jimmy: Do you have any problems when running straight into your PC? I usually don't have any problems too noisily when i just plug into a small practice amp.

Re: MUAHAHAHA Check out what i just bought ;)

I am also a V-Amp Pro user...
I've had dozens of preamps and have made every effort to switch to a tube preamp, I've had the Pod Pro, the Carvin Quad-X, Mesa Quad, Hafler Triple Giant, ADA MP-1, ADA MP-2, Engl 520, and I now have a Mesa Boogie Triaxis 2.0....

I've sold ALL of them except the Boogie Triaxis and have went back to the V-Amp Pro.
The only reason that I've still got the Triaxis is because it's not sold yet, but I'm trying to sell or trade it. The Engl 520 and the Triaxis are the only ones that came close to making me a tube preamp user again, but the V-Amp Pro just crushes them all, regardless of price thanks to it's flexibility, multiple channels and built in effects.

The flexibility and tone of the V-Amp pro is one of the best secrets going right now.
People think Behringer = cheapo crap, but give me a V-Amp Pro any day of the week.
I'm using my V-Amp Pro in my rack with a TC Electronic G-Major and a Boogie 50/50 power amp.
The only reason I need the G-Major is because I use the bleed over ability of the effects from one patch to another which allows for a distorted chord to ring over top of a clean part if need be... (or vice versa).

Good pick on the two straight cabs.

Slanted cabs sound like crap to me. I prefer straight-fronts myself (and have two Boogie Recto Traditionals; not the big fart boxes, the smaller ones).

Nice setup.
