My first self made-written record

I know the song is very long (ca. 6:30) but please listen to it compleately, because it has some (in my mind) interesting variations and climaxes...

Everything was played by me except for the drum track wich was made with fruity loops.

The voice is by my band's lead singer.

Excuse me if I made mistakes writing the song's text, but tryed not to bee too common and maybe wrote something wich in my language had a meaning but in english not...

So after all any comment will be very important for me and really appreciated.
It's very very important for me to know your opinion about music, tones, mix etc...

Thank you for your time

Like the music/mix. Nice mellow feel but didn't care much for the singer thou her pic was hot. Mebbe give her a tamborine instead of a mic.

Ah, a reply!
I think it's my guilt if her voice isn't that beautIful, I'm not that good inrecordig-equalizing, cause she'has a really really nice voice! Or maybe is simply the song that doesn't fit her right.

Anyway thanks for the comment

Re: My first self made-written record

Way too long. There wasn't enough going on to warrant 6 plus minutes, if you can say it in 3 minutes do it in three. Once you've had a hit record you can drag it out.

I was kind of waiting for the end by about 4:30. Nice tune overall, solo was a bit dragged out and over the top for this kind of tune though. There were some pitchy parts vocally as well as some awkward riffs over the outro vocal. She doesn't appear to be a particularly strong singer...Projection is key and she sounded kind of breathy/windy.

Use this as a stepping stone to do things better each time you record. First time I laid something down in a studio in 1988, I couldn't believe how much better I had gotten after 6 months of doing it.

You sound like a decent player, however, play for the song...

Good luck

Re: My first self made-written record

For me it's a problem writeing short songs...I grew up with dire straits and 15 min long songs, so now i still feel the influence...not wanting to compare me to knopfler though
