My Guitar Rig Hero Contest video

As you probably already know, Native Instruments organized a contest where anyone can put a video on Youtube, using Guitar Rig. More info can be found here: http://www.native-instruments.com/in...itarrigcontest
Here's my entry:

Please rate the video if you like it, so I can have a chance at winning the goodies and becoming an internet rock star celebrity huhu

Re: My Guitar Rig Hero Contest video

Great technique It reminds me of early Dream Theater

You need a more "rockstar" backdrop though to keep up with your playing!!!

Re: My Guitar Rig Hero Contest video

Thanks!
You get 5 stars from me aswell, Dragianni. Your clip was certainly one of the better sounding ones, and I think that's mostly what this competition is about. The playing was pretty damn good aswell by the way

As for early Dream Theater? Dunno, I never listened to Dream Theater/John Petrucci much. The first impression rather turned me off, so I didn't look further.

Cool vids guys

I'm intrigued by this Guitar Rig thing. So it's kinda like a POD but all software?

Oh, Scali, I too was turned off by early dream theater. But then I listened to the Awake album and fell in love...and I learned to tune out Labrie (the singer). lol.

Yes, you can use it as a VST effect in Cubase or other recording software.
You just plug the guitar directly into your PC, and the software does the amp, speaker, microphone and effect simulation for you, just like a Pod does.

The advantage is that the amp simulation and effects are done after recording, so you can 're-amp' very easily. The recorded track is just the clean guitar sound. So you can go back and adjust the amp settings, or choose another amp, cab, mic etc altogether, to finetune your tone.

Come on guys, help me out here please
The rules say you need at least 250 ratings in order to compete. I'm nowhere near that amount yet
