My High Quality Photos of McNaught's Comet that passed us tonight + moon pics

Hi All




well for the past 4 nights this comet has been lighting up our skies and it looked amazing.

tonight me and a work mate drove up the flinders ranges (big mountaneous reserve in south australia) to take some pics.



under every pic is a highres link to save as or click to open, these pics are 1024x768 resizes. The large ones would make great wallpapers! The hires ones are either 6.3 mpixel (Fuji) or 4mpixel (Nikon)





for starters, the sunset as seen by Naperby; South Australia

the pics were done with a camera with 6x optical on a tripod.







Well i decided to get daring and attempt to take some moon photos through my 114mm Telescope, heres what came out, the pics blew me away!

We cant appreciate the comet here in Houston as the rain hasn't stopped for several days.

I gotta tell you although I've never been there Austrailia must be an amazing place for star gazing. Especially if you're off the beaten path away from major cities. There's almost no light pollution. The closest I got to that was when I got to view a meteor shower on the big island of Hawaii. Pretty breathtaking I must say. Great pics man. I'm simply awestruck, wish I was there.

Those moon pics are awesome dude. A friend o mine took some photos here in Canberra of the comet the other night with his DSLR and telescopic lense and they are awesome. I'm going to try and see it tonight if it's not as cloudy as last night.
