My new 3bay guitar (vid and pic)
A guy who knows a guy, who knows some guys heard that I play blues sometimes as well as shreddy rock stuff. He's decided to book my band for a for a blues festival in September and this got me thinking.....?.....???
.....My wife would spend £50 on a pair of shoes just to wear on a special night out so why don't I buy a cheap guitar just for this gig?
Anyway here she is......(sorry the pics are a little dark)
She arrived 2 days ago and when I got her she was a very boring MIC
Squier strat
(aprox 1994). I knew I'd have to set her up so I did a bit of work on the body and the headstock as well (removed the massive black squier logo
) I was suprised to find that the body is alder and not ply (as I feared) and she's currently the cheapest guitar I've ever bought. I snagged this little lady for .......wait for it............£36.00 !!!!!
I thought my Yamaha at £50 was never going to be beaten but 36 quid is the bargain of the year.
Here's a short vid to show that it actualy plays .....I know you're all thinking that at 36quid it must be a complete, unplayable dog but I assure you she plays fine.

There's an 3bay shop that sells the faded, cream coloured knob and
pickup cover
set for a fiver so I think that'll be a nice 2nd stage mod for her.
Here's the item number for those of you who think I might be talking b*llocks.....160011364967

Great find, and once again dude..................F**KING AWESOME playing. Absolutely brilliant. I suppose your festival is going to be too far for me to go, which is a shame. I'd really like to see you playing live. Fantastic stuff mate
Now...........can £36 be beaten ????

It's a thing called Appleby Blues Festival which is in Appleby-in-Westmorland on the 17th Sep (which is a Saturday) Get yourself up to the Lake District man it's a good excuse for a weekend away!
If 36 quid CAN be beaten then be sure that I'll be trying
Cheers
Ben

LOL!
I think it'll be on the bench for a brass nut, new saddles and tuners pretty soon.

Re: My new 3bay guitar (vid and pic)
what did you use to put the propper fender logo on? or was that the logo it came with, just with a big squier logo as well?

Re: My new 3bay guitar (vid and pic)
Very Hendrix-y, I like it, very nice tone and nice playing, that's a sweet Strat, congrats!
I myself have one too, a Mex. made Strat, I love it.

Strats are great, I think every guitarist should have one in their collection.
