Sounds good. But I think you are missing some of the harmonics in the beginning.

Thanks guys.

Alwin, yeah i did record it with the Lambda.

Moebius, yeah i did it on the neck pickup, which didnt pick up any harmonics whatsoever.

Hey, really good, I liked it.
My comment is also on harmonics: why your neck pup didn't get 'em?
What's the pup model?

Thanks bro. The pickup model is Dimarzio New7 i think... but neck pickups arent very popular for harmonics are they !

Sounds good mate
Was thinking of suggesting this song for the band I'm in. But, I think that solo might be a little beyond me at the moment!

All of the fast parts actually sound better than the original IMHO since the original recording sounds fairly sloppy isolated.

However, as everyone else has said, the important harmonics are all wrong. Obviously this isn't a technique issue. Rather, it's more about the gear.

Great work . I'm very impressed.

Re: My take on the classic Beat It solo by Eddie Van Halen

Thanks mates

Gurj: anything is possible, just keep at it I started trying to learn Vai solo's in my first week of guitar playing, with little success, but made me look to the future instead of poncing around with all this basic pentatonic stuff that was popular in Total Guitar magazine back then.

Thanks Fyrie, thats quite a compliment Yeah its more to do with the gear really, i havent had the money or time to go looking for a new amp recently (im using Amplitube, a VSTi amp simulator) but hopefully Gurj is going to change that in a couple of weeks

The Lexicon sounds wonderful!

Hey, in the beginning you can hear noise from your amp. Kind of like a buzzing sound, if you know what I mean. Did you record this with a direct out from your amp or did you use a microphone?

Re: My take on the classic Beat It solo by Eddie Van Halen

Ive used the VSTi software Amplitube, as an amp. I plugged my guitar directly into the Lambda, which goes into Amplitube, which goes into Steinberg Nuendo, my DAW.

Thanks. That's interesting. The reason I asked is because I'm also getting a Lambda. It's a wonderful interface and it's not too expensive, either.

Rock on!

It really isnt worth it man...

The drivers like to f*** up sometimes, it dosn't work with Vista as well as it should, its just a piss-off, tbh.

I'd get a firewire interface if your computer supports it, or something other than Lexicon. I had so many problems with it man, i wouldn't want anyone else going through that.

I hear people talk about firewire all the time. I should look into it.

Yeah you should, but check if you have a firewire input already on your PC
