Mystery riff #1.

Try to guess what song starts like this, this one should be easy. Clue #1: use distortion.

Re: Mystery riff #1.

Right again. Now try to guess this tasty riff in A Dorian. There's a free form intro section before this, but this riff starts off the main part of the song. Use a dry medium overdrive.

I guess this one is giving people trouble.

Clue #2: the band is "shocking"

Re: Mystery riff #1.

I don't know, you tell ME. Remember, this is guess the song, not just the band. I'll just keep giving clues until it gets figured out.

Clue #2: One of the words in the song's title is also in this thread's title.

Re: Mystery riff #1.

looks like the "jem" named ppl are kickin butt! Correct answer andy.

OK, here's the next one. The guitarist on this was in a very well "traveled" band before recording this. Standard metal distortion. Although not important to figuring out the song, the repeat ending should start one measure earlier and last two measures (I just didn't want to redo the tab).

Re: Mystery riff #1.

I guess this one was too hard. It's "Hot Cherie" by Hardline. Here's a easier one, by if you can't figure this one out without needing clues, please turn in your rock membership card at the door.
