New composition!!!
Hey guys,
This is a new composition i did for my school GCSE course.
tried to make it as melodic as possible. I dont know much about theory, but i realised i was using Pentatonic Blues and Natural minor a lot, so i did some squeeling on the C# Mixolydian scale at the end, lol.
I think its pretty good for the fact that ive only been playing for 1 and [sup]3/4[/sup] years!!!
I used Nuendo, some reverb plugin, EZdrummer, and Amplitube. You can get amazing sounds out of Amplitube, best amp sim. ive seen in ages!
Please comment, with some constructive criticism too!!!

Re: New composition!!!
That's outstanding considering how long you've been playing!
The different sections on their own sound good, but as a whole I think it sounds messy, maybe you're trying to put too much into the piece. It doesnt quite knit together if you know what I mean.
Nothing that a bit of editing couldn't fix though

Thanks a lot man.
What do you mean by editing?
I know it sounds really messy, im trying to get a really good mark for it so i had to dramatically change the chorus and verses, tempo and texture wise, just like the classical pieces we've been listening a lot to recently.
Except mine sounds wrong when i try it lol.

Re: New composition!!!
Your playing is great for someone only at one year and a bit but your song structure needs work. At 35 seconds into the song it makes a very confusing sounding change. Kinda abrupt sounding. Try a more subtle approach, not so harsh.

Re: New composition!!!
Good job. Certainly room to improve but I listened to it several times, and liked it. Sounds like you have a lot of passion for the instrument and for making music.
I noticed the tempo/beat changes in your
backing track
didn't always match with your soloing. It would be more "dramatic" if you played into the tempo changes. I say this because at some points, your soloing stayed at the same pace/volume when the backing track had already either sped up or slowed down. The 35 sec speed up without warning, then later at 1:0x slow down again, then at 1:4x it speeds up again over which you play something.
Hope I made sense.

Hi. thanks,
as i said before, i wanted the B and C sections of the song faster and very different to the A section ( i structured it A B A C coda).
What do you mean play into it?
I listened to it now, and i kinda heard myself speed up as it got closer to the faster sections, if you get me, lol
Can you explain a bit more?

Re: New composition!!!
I did notice the ABAC structure.
What I meant was that while yes you played faster, it sounded too abrupt. You didn't seem to build up the speed. Maybe some kind of a fill (drums and/or your lead on top) could bridge the structure better.
