One word....digitech. I'll be glad when I can get my amps and the good 'puter in the same room. I'm hoping to be able to record with my Marshall and a good speaker emulator soon. Thanks for the comments mon.

I use a rp100 myself and don't find myself to sound too crappy.
I've posted a few clips here, not too bad imo hehe

so, you like the super ruler-like neck on the dbk? i'm amazed lol

Great chops! Way to go, man.
And Sam- I find the neck on the DBK to be extremely comfortable; it's not THAT thin. Now the neck on my PGM300 is THIN.

Thanks Ben, I was going for the bizarre/humorous/textural vs shred kind of thing.

yeah, your tone doesn't do justice to your playing

but the chops are definitely there

Thanks Carlo, I feel much more comfortable playing through my Marshall. One day soon the tube amps and computer will meet.

kinda weird but you said that was the first time recording with your DBK ? , imho , your tone is much better on other tracks ive heard , e.g. the jeff beck tribute , that sounded more like a jem imo , what gear did you use for those tracks ? , still fantastic playing though , i love the whale type noises which vai does at the end of G3

Anton, yeah I wanted something different, even if it did sound worse. I used just presets (with the exception of the acoustic part which was my Ovation) on my Digitech GNX-1. I didn't even fool with it to try and get a smoother sound.....I wanted it to be more on the "rude&crude" side so it would really contrast with the opening and the acoustic part.

On the previous stuff I did, I used my little tube pedal for gain and the GNX for effects and cab modeling.
