Re: new song

dude...

you have been practicing havent you :P

that sounds awesome, i had it playing while i was writing an email and i really felt it man, i am thinking early vai or something would be on an early satriani album.

that sounded great! the little bridge/fill in the middle was great too.

what gear did you use? guitar? effects? recording gear? recording software?

i like that subtle wah you have going on too, very well controlled.

the only thing i would like to see would be your fast licks and big runs reflect the melody a little more, i got lost a few times when your sweeping tapping bits were going on i would even consider decreasing the intensity of the sweeping and tapping to make it more simpler,

a good guitar solo is one you can hum to yourself after the song is finished

Cheers mate, keep up the good work!

Nice Joey

I like the tone of the wah.

I can't help it either with the wah tapping. It's like arghhhh, I can't see my fingers

Have FUN!!!

Re: new song

Well, Ive been trying to fine - tune my recording techniques to get the acoustic that isnt ( piezos in the bridge of my rg 2027 ) to try and sound a bit fuller. I used a line 6 amp out thru the headphone jack right into a zoom 16 track recorder. Drums are painfully built in. There is some delay from the amp and a touch of verb from the board. The morley is a mark tremonti wah. It gives a good flavor without over saturating the sound. I agree, it is a bit shreddy listening back the next morning. Not enough melody. No one will ever forget Gilmores stuff.

Re: new song

That is very cool! +1 for the Satchy feel.

I like, I like.

One last thing: might be my computer speakers but the rhythm guitar doesn't sound very clear or high in the mix. Maybe isolating them a bit more would be something to try? I think it might sound sound alot better (it's already very good!) if the rhythm was more 'up there' driving the melody.

Not a criticism, just an idea!

Great stuff joeydego. I love your tone and phrasing.
My two personal favs of yours are this one and the free flowing bass line.
