Re: New song I recorded
Hey, man, your song is nice, but I think that you should remake the drums. Everything else is nicely composed.

Re: New song I recorded
NP, your song is very pretty. It's in my playlist.
You just sound so unsecure sometimes, like you were nervous cuz you were recording it. Don't take this wrong, there are no mistakes, I just have that feeling, like I can hear you are nervous. Maybe it's just the sound your playin' with.
Are you gonna share some more? I'd really like to hear more.

Re: New song I recorded
The composition is very good, I think you need to work on the tones a bit, the lead tone especially just seems too "buzzy" (maybe it's what you are going for, but it's not easy on my ears), someow the tones on your other two new tracks were a bit smoother. I think this track needs some more "space" too, more panning of instruments (same goes for the other two to an extent). But I know it's a work in progress, so it's all good. the composition and playing are great though...

Re: New song I recorded
Thanks guys for the comments, to hear more, just go here
http://www.shawncastonguay.com
As far as being nervous, I wasn't but the drumbeat I laid down was so weird because of how slow it is and I had to stretch it out beyond measures...hard to explain, but when I went to record the music, I was all messed up but somehow, I came through with it and the reverb and delay helped out I guess....It is not the best song I recorded -that's for sure.
Thanks for listening though, guys, I appreciate it.

Re: New song I recorded
Thanks, man! It needed improvement so I decided that since I play alot of keyboards, adding it would make it 100% better. Thanks for listening.

Re: New song I recorded
you have SEXY melody and all the good things others said. But it's time for some serious criticism.
You have a great song with TOTALLY crap production which boils down to nothing. You REALLY need to work on your tones and try to add more punch on the overall sound. you MUST double track all your riffs. This adds punch to the song..I do 4 track for extra balls to the metal tone. Your distrtion is brittle and in "City in the sky" the bass was cracking. You really need to get a PSP Vintage Warmer my friend. Also your choice of effects is not pretty amazing..well neither is mine. We all learn with time I guess.
I am not a studio pro but I am learning all this stuff too and hence I am giving these tips because I faced EXACT same problem.
