Hey Tom, this is really well put together. I'm generally not fussed about vocals, but I was always super picky about vocals anyway and tend to listen mainly to instrumental music. With your track here, the vocals work well, good arrangement, sounds strong. Best of luck with the band!

PS: Added you on MySpace.

awsome, glad you guys liked it

yeah, i tend to come up with the vocals last, and they are mostly improvised, so im chuffed that you think the vox works well/does not detract from the music

cheers

Excellent. It would be good "cruising" music late at night!

Its a very nice piece. Good stuff.

I don't want to say it reminds me of anything, because it stands on its own. I played it rather loud. I would probably appreciate the vocals to be higher in the mix a bit. It might be detrimental to the atmosphere of the song though.

man!

this is so cool that all you guys lke it, we are currently recording a new track, and it could either go a bit heavier(i.e some more obvious 'riffs' and downtuned), or go a bit less heavy (less compression/frequency fill up using different distortion tones) or stay about the same

what do you think?

and again, cheers for all the posetive feedback

The guitars remind me very much of My Vitriol. And I love that band dearly, so take that as a compliment for sure!!!

I like it. Cymbals get very swishy at 1:00, dont know if its an mp3 issue of if the wav is the same. very Bowie vocals, cool. Id be proud, too! sent you a friends request.

Honestly Tom, I wouldn't even want to begin to give you advice. The reason is because I get the sense that you had a vision for how this song should be in your head before you started recording and you sought that out. Most people (like me), unfortunately, just mess around until we get a riff and then we build on it. So I say, don't ask for our advice, keep creating what it is that you hear in your head. I like it and it seems to be working. Keep it up.

its some realy heavy compression on just the cymbals. its a technique used by a lot of post rock bands which i tried to replicate..

i haven't fully got to grips with the logic express compressors yet, but listen to tracks like 'greet death' by EITS or 'milano' by sigur ros and you will see what i was aiming for..

cheers for the encouragement GilkyBear/everyone, i really appreciate it

Re: new song! im really proud of this so please check it out.

I know nothing about those compressors, but bringing the release time down ought to take care of the swish, unless the swish is what you were going for...
