Hi All

You have heard me talk about it before, on and on to be honest, I have had a tonezone in the neck of my RG for over a year now and i love its sound, i have spoken to some guys on Jemsite and they have never tried it, so in true JimmyJ fashion i made a Pickup Video for it

Informative as always. Be good if you could play a longer piece with that one and then again with another neck pickup through the same patch for a comparison.

Tone Zone in the neck sounds wonderful! I'm afraid it would sound too agressive for me but still really nice.

Cool. Too many people talk about what pickup is best, blah, blah. Having an actual sound clip/video is way better.

I used to have a bright green Strat style guitar I put together from parts that had a TZ in the bridge and neck. The guitar also had a standard strat bridge and maple fingerboard. It was alright but I never loved it.

well I feel a lot better anyway, last week I ordered a PAF pro and a tonezone for my RG450 !!!
I was planning to pu the PAF in the neck but I might try the other way around !

If i was to maybe to one video a week or one a fortnight and upload it would you guys be interested? i could catalogue a heap of them and make vids based on what you are after.

Things i could video:

Equipment (Pickups, effects, guitar mods, tuning, floating bridge setup)
Technique (alt picking, 3nps scales, legato)
Recording (direct recording, punching, track doubling)
Amp Settings (tone controls, how to make the most out of your sound)

so on...so forth

let me know and ill start making some


I can also do direct comparisons between guitars and pickup setups.

maybe a JB clip that has the same quality as the tonezone in the neck one ?
Those 2 pups head to head tz and jb :P sonic evaluation between the 2 of them.

I liked the jb clip but i thought i twas a bit soft and not as good quality as the tz one.

Does the volume jump between the medium output PAF Pro to the HOT Tone Zone not bother you much?
