Well you don't have to post in every single thread, and your opinion in this case would seem a bit superfluous. "He's not as good as Jason Becker at that age" being applicable to all but a handful of guitarists in history.....

Well, so what? I wasn't posting him for people to see how "skilled" he is (not that he isn't), but purely on the notion of how '80s he is, and his own badass songs/covers (which are among the greatest original songs/covers I've SEEN on youtube.)

Sorry if this came off as a bit harsh, but it's one of my pet peeves when people judge a guitarist solely on their skill level, and not on the whole picture. Beisides he's only 18, you might aswell comment on his intellect or knowledge of cosmology being lower than Stephen Hawkings!

I don't have to post in every single thread? Dude I'll post where I want and when I want, and I sure don't post in every single thread anyway. To you my post may seem superfluous yeah but are you gonna speak for everybody on here as well?

No worries Silver Era, certainly no offence taken dude!! I think he's a good player, as I said definitely one to watch, trust me I'm not slating the guy and as DD said there are not many who can stand up to the likes of Becker. Peace guys!!!

No probs, but I personally wouldn't use Becker as a benchmard for all guitarists to watch. As I said before, that's like comparing every scientist, with the likes of Carl Sagan and even Einstein etc, to Stephen Hawking!

Why being so rude?
If his opinion is superfluous to you it doesn't means it's TO ME or to any other member.
If you can't stand opinions different than yours why are you in a Forum?
Do you know what Forum means?
Google it.
Relax Daemon some people can't stand differences or different opinions, they don't know DIFFERENCES are the best thing in the world.
I couldn't live in a world where everybody listen ONLY to Kirk Hammett LOL

Bwahahahahahahahaha. Jeez mate, do you copy and paste the same rant every time?

I'm all for debate and all, but who's really gonna come on here and say that kid IS better than Jason Becker? I don't think I'm stifling debate here...

As another example, hey, the sun came up this morning. But I didn't feel the need to post about it. Because it was obvious. See the connection?

D
Why not if this is what I believe?
Do you change your opinions everyday?
At least I'm honest to myself and to what I believe.
Not rant,I'm just tired of seeing people who can't stand the others opinions.
EVEN if Daemon was obvious still it's his opinion.
I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with him I just think his opinion as a member here ...matters.
At least he was just honest and not a dumbass who could have said=hey this guy s.ucks or something.
I agree we shouldn't compare any guitarist to guys like Becker,Vai,Satch etc cause they're unique but still that was his point of view so let's respect it.
Nope?
Ok let's ask to mods a battlefield where there are no rules.
That would be funny!

Casey is a great guitarist not just because of his skill but he has the attitude and the image to go with it. I mean take one of his idols George Lynch, he is an awesome guitar player but he is never going to win a shred off with the likes of Jeff Loomis but he has the image, the attitude and obviously the song writing skills which have made him legendary. I think if Casey continues on the way he is going he could tread the same path, although he will have to get out of Aus first and go to the US unfortunately.

If he saves up enough money to move over, I'll buy him a coke! Make that two!

Re: Oh My God -- And I thought the '80s ended 20 years ago.

When I first saw this young man play last year, it made me feel 16 again, which was almost 25 years ago, and yes I am old. He is very talented and seems to have a decent personality to boot. He seems to enjoy what he is doing, and its nice to see that the 80's metal is alive in the younger generation. I really had a great time growing up listening to those bands. He is also quite a talented drummer too.
