Ok ya'll. Listen to these 2 intro's and....

I'm working on a tune with a friend. He's not as into noodle as I am. But he'll let me play what ever I want. I've come up with 2 different ideas, I like em both, but for different reasons. One is a little more "look at me", but it still fits, even though is brings back memories of Stryper.

Give me your thoughts. They are 1:42 long, the part in question is from :22-:48. Once i make a decision, I'll go back and polish it up.

Both are too far back in the mix I think. Or my pc is playing mono-ish... could be..

I like the ending part (:45ish) of the 01 more. But, I like the 02 for the most part.

Sounds really nice.

Both are okay! But the intro 1 is more melodic, so i go for that one.

Can't believe i just typed that... I'm getting old...:P

Awesome playing Darin!!

Wow - that's through a POD? That sounds great. I've been wanting to save up for a tube amp and I want to record, but maybe I should just get a POD - then I could do both for far less money.

Anyway, I like them both...the first is more melodic and I dig that, but the second is more aggressive and I also like that. Either would work!

#2 is the best.
The other one is too 'lollipop' for me. Also, on the first one you play akward notes over some of the changes.....second on is much stronger.

I'm leaning toward the 2nd one mysellf. I'm going to rework it a bit and tighten it up.

Thanks for your input.

I like #2 ~ both are good, but 2 is stronger on its own, while #1 is very Stryper-ish.

Great playing BTW.

Ok, reworked some. Almost dialed in. This is where it's at currently. Check it out.

A bit to much for an intro solo, don't you think? I still like version 2 better. It has a rocknroll feel to it that IMO serves the song better. The new one has the same ellements but you pushed the "noodling" factor a little over the top, for an intro solo.

Re: Ok ya'll. Listen to these 2 intro's and....

I seem to be in the minority here, but I preferred the first one. It has more melody and will interest the listener more. Which is what good intros should do.

#2 seems more like a guitar break that could be used between a verse and a chorus, not as an introduction. But that's just what I think.

The bassline reminded me of a sped up version of living on a prayer. Perhaps you should try a talk box? Woah-woah-woah oh-oh woah-woah-woah oh-oh...
